Hi, I'm Dylan Payne, an Underwriter and recent Economics graduate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. 

About Me 

As an Underwriter I at Windward Risk Managers, I analyze risk, evaluate exposures, and make informed underwriting decisions that balance business objectives with customer needs. This role allows me to combine analytical problem-solving with collaboration and customer service, ensuring homeowners receive the right coverage while managing risk effectively.

I graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.S. in Economics, concentrating in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics—a foundation that sharpened my critical thinking skills and strategic decision-making. Through coursework in Environmental Economics, Sports Economics, and Business Statistics, I developed hands-on experience with data analysis and visualization using tools like Stata and R to explore real-world challenges.

Beyond academics, my leadership roles in the UAB Honors College and Collat School of Business strengthened my ability to mentor, collaborate, and drive engagement. Whether leading student recruitment efforts or guiding freshmen as a SMART Leader, I’ve always valued teamwork and communication as key drivers of success.
